SPECIALIZED INSTRUCTION FOR LEARNING DIFFERENCES

Educational Therapy works at stimulating cognitive deficits to strengthen and promote independent learning. This type of tutoring is more complex than just addressing an academic concern. Our educational therapists are qualified to work with students who demonstrate a wide range of exceptionalities not found in typically developing students. To help students uncover their best learning styles and strategies to maximize their potential, tutors work on academic content and present material in a modified manner depending on the students’ needs.

Examples of students who would benefit from Educational Therapy are:

  • a student with diagnosed or undiagnosed learning difficulties which are hampering achievement in the classroom setting.

  • a student with attention deficits (ADD/ADHD) who struggles with concentration.

  • a student who needs self-esteem building or increased motivation.

  • a student with dyslexia or language-based learning disability who needs specialized instruction from tutors trained in the Orton/Wilson methodology.

  • a student who needs improvement with executive function (concentration, memory, time management, etc.)
